Occupational Health & Safety
Maxim are committed to the health and safety of all our employees and people affected by our activities and strive to be an acknowledged leader in the Occupational Health and Safety field. Our goal is to have injury free workplaces, facilities and operations. Maxim will work to identify and eliminate hazards, practices, dangerous situations and any behaviour that could cause accidents, illnesses, or damage to employees, contractors, property, equipment, site visitors and the general public where applicable. Maxim communicate constantly (emails, toolbox meetings) with their employees regarding OHS updates and policy/procedure changes, if any and ask for their input before implementing any changes. Maxim’s supervisors and employees are accountable for their health and wellbeing and that of others including the general public.
Primary Goal
The primary goal of the policy and associated procedures is to achieve zero harm and assist in presenting a safe and healthy environment for Maxim’s employees, contractors, visitors, clients and the general public.
Objectives
- Comply with all relevant statutory obligations
- Provide adequate resources to establish and maintain safe systems of work by thr training of our employees on a regular basis
- Maintain health and safety competency and integrate health and safety requirements in all aspects of Maxim’s business activities;
- Continuously Improve performance through innovative technology, education, training and management practices by measuring, monitoring, analysing and evaluating our OHS management system policies and procedures
- Provide health and safety training for employees including refresher training
- Engage only those contractors who aspire to the same level of health and safety standards as Maxim
- Promote a positive health and safety culture that is based on the principle that all occurrences can be prevented utilising our hieracchy of hazard control measures
- Provide emergency rescue plans in appropriate SWMS as required
All employees, apprentices and people under our management including hire apprentices and on loan labour are required to follow rules relating to health and safety requirements, report incidents, hazards and dangerous situations to their immediate supervisor and wear the appropriate personal protective
equipment (PPE).
Our commitment to health and safety is as important as our commitment to other Maxim aims and objectives.

Environmental
Maxim’s activities will be carried out so as to protect the health of employees, apprentices, clients, contractors, and the community while paying proper regards to the protection and management of the environment.
Maxim is committed to the protection and management of the environment in all its activities and operations.
Maxim will endeavour to conduct its activities and operations in a manner that is environmentally responsible and sustainable.
Primary Goal
The Primary Goal of the Policy and associated procedures is to assist in maintaining the highest environmental standards.
Objectives
- Meet all legal and regulatory requirements for environmental management and protection and where these are lacking or insufficient to protect the environment, apply best practice standards that will ensure the environment is protected;
- Maintain an awareness within Maxim that activities performed are of the responsibilities of Maxim and their employees so as to ensure protection of the environment
- Regularly review Maxim’s activities to identify and assess the environmental impact associated with these activities
- Implement and maintain management systems, processes, policies and procedures to ensure the environment is protected including the control of discharge of waste substances and emissions, or any other potentially environmentally hazardous conditions that may harm the environment
- Provide the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) emergency contact number to Site Foreman
Maxim’s commitment to the environment is as important as our commitment to other aims, activities and operations.
Maxim will report to the relevant authorities, namely the EPA and local councils if an incident has occurred where environmental damage has occurred.

Quality Assurance

Primary Goal
The primary goal of the policy and associated procedures is to sustain continued commitment to meeting organisation, client and customer requirements.
Objectives
The objectives of this policy are to:
- Demonstrate and achieve commitment to meeting all contractual commitments and obligations
- Perform and provide defect free electrical services for all clients and customers
- Fully understand the requirements of all our clients and customers
- Ensure we meet these requirements first time, every time
- Conform to these requirements at all times
- Pursue best practice quality assurance principles and meet all statutory requirements
- Ensure that the concept of this policy is understood, implemented and maintained (including electronic back up of files & hard copies) at all levels of Maxim’s activities and operations
The quality assurance management system of Maxim is based on the concepts of the continuous improvement process and conforms totally to the requirements as defined in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

Sustainability
Maxim’s activities will be carried out so as to make sustainability part of everything we do. Maxim is committed to enhancing and sustaining the world’s built, natural and social environments. Maxim will endeavour to conduct its activities and operations in a manner that is environmentally responsible and sustainable.
Primary Goal
The primary goal of the policy and associated procedures is to:
- Embed sustainability into all aspects of our work with our clients
- Build our capacity to provide sustainable solutions for our clients in creative and innovative ways
- Conduct our business in a way that is consistent with sustainability principles
By embracing sustainability, we aim to produce sustainable outcomes across every aspect of our work including planning, design, development, delivery and review. Maxim have adopted a sustainability procedure as part of our Integrated Management System (IMS) that will provide guidance on the application of sustainability.
Project Managers are responsible for ensuring that projects reflect sustainability thinking and that procedure is followed. Coordination, maintenance and management of the procedure are the responsibility of the General Manager.
Objectives
The objectives of this policy are to:
- Inspire a culture that seeks to embed sustainability into all aspects of our work
- Help our clients and partners achieve their sustainability objectives
- Aim to improve the sustainability performance of each successive project
- Work with clients to increase the efficiency of natural resource use in the areas of energy, water and building, and decrease waste in projects
- Protect the environment and natural resources
- Work with clients to engage stakeholders more effectively, delivering reliable and quality services and continuously seeking innovation.
- Build sustainability capability through training for management, employees, visitors, and affected people.
